Description

Hand-Carved Teak Djembe Drum – 24" Tall, 12" Head

Traditional West African djembe drum, hand-carved from solid teak and featuring a natural goatskin drumhead. Rope-tuned with durable black nylon for consistent tone and playability, this piece showcases classic craftsmanship with a hand-scraped exterior and visible tool marks throughout. The drum produces a deep, resonant bass and crisp, articulate highs—ideal for both performance and display.

Includes a custom padded carry bag made from a repurposed Ghanaian flour sack dated 1967. Quilted interior, zipper closure, and double shoulder straps add convenience and a unique handmade aesthetic.

A striking combination of musical function and cultural character, perfect for percussionists, world music enthusiasts, or collectors.

Condition:
Good condition with signs of normal use. Drumhead is taut and playable. Teak body shows light surface wear and patina. Carry case is intact with minor fraying and fading, but remains functional and secure.

Dimensions:
Drum Top: 12" diameter
Overall: 24" height x 14" width x 14" depth
