Vintage Technics SL-1400 Direct Drive Automatic Turntable System with Stanton 681EEE Cartridge – Original Box & Accessories

Presenting the Technics SL-1400, a semi-automatic direct-drive turntable renowned for its precision engineering and durable construction. Manufactured in Japan by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. (Panasonic) during the mid-1970s, this model is celebrated for its reliable speed accuracy, low wow and flutter, and robust build quality. The semi-automatic operation allows for automatic return of the tonearm at the end of a record, enhancing user convenience. The direct-drive motor eliminates the need for belts, ensuring consistent performance and minimal maintenance.

This unit is equipped with a Stanton 681EEE cartridge, a moving-magnet phono cartridge acclaimed for its accurate and clean sound reproduction. The 681EEE features a 0.2 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus, offering a frequency response from 10Hz to 22kHz and a recommended tracking force between 0.75 to 1.5 grams.

The turntable comes with its original box and shipping materials, along with the original dust cover, making it a valuable find for collectors and audiophiles alike.

Condition:

This turntable is in good condition, exhibiting signs of use consistent with its age. There are minor scuffs and scratches on the plastic dust cover, and slight finish loss near the stylus area. The platter does not sit completely flat, due to long-term storage, but there are no breaks or cracks in the dust cover. The unit powers on and the platter rotates; however, no further testing has been performed.
