J. Bonsall Oceanic Dreamscape – Abstract Acrylic on Paper (Framed, 26.25” x 32.25”)
A captivating acrylic on paper by James Belton Bonsall (1926–1999), showcasing a dynamic and atmospheric abstract seascape. Rendered in rich blues, soft greens, and expressive white highlights, the painting captures the ever-changing movement of the ocean beneath a moody, cloud-filled sky. Bonsall’s fluid brushstrokes and layered textures create a sense of depth and motion, evoking the interplay between water and sky. The dreamlike quality of the composition suggests both serenity and the power of nature, a signature theme in Bonsall’s work.
This piece is signed in the lower right corner and presented framed and matted behind glass. The framing enhances the intensity of the colors and provides a striking contrast to the fluid composition. Despite a visible crease down the middle from a previous fold, the artwork retains its vibrant presence and artistic integrity.
