Description

"Remember, Dream" - Hand-Painted New Mexico Folk Art Wall Cabinet – Signed LCK

This handcrafted wooden wall cabinet embodies the spirit of New Mexico folk art, blending Southwestern, Spanish colonial, and Native American influences. The stepped top reflects Pueblo Revival architecture, while the earthy brown and turquoise palette evokes the colors of the desert landscape.

Hand-painted details include two angels in blue dresses on the front panel, symbolizing protection, guidance, and spirituality. Surrounding them are cross-like motifs reminiscent of traditional Southwestern designs. The words "Remember" and "Dream" are inscribed along the trim, reinforcing themes of introspection, memory, and aspiration. Inside, a hidden painted scene reveals two trumpeting angels beneath a golden sun, a motif of divine awakening and celebration.

Crafted from solid wood, this piece features leather hardware and a turquoise pull, adding a rustic, handcrafted touch. The interior storage space measures 9" x 13", making it ideal for keepsakes, devotional items, or small treasures. The artist’s initials "LCK" are signed on the interior panel, indicating an individual folk artist, likely from New Mexico.

Condition:
In good condition, with minor wear consistent with age. The trim inside the door is slightly loose, but the structure remains sturdy. The hand-painted finish has an intentional crackled texture, enhancing its folk-art character.
