Acoma Pueblo Fine Line Pottery Vase
This Acoma Pueblo pottery vase showcases an intricate fine-line geometric design, meticulously hand-painted in black and white. The radiating patterns, characteristic of Acoma artistry, demonstrate the exceptional craftsmanship and precision for which the Pueblo is known. Its striking, flattened circular form features a pierced opening, adding both visual interest and sculptural appeal. The back is finished in a natural terracotta hue, providing a beautiful contrast to the detailed front.
This piece is slip mold cast, rather than traditionally hand-coiled, a technique sometimes used by Acoma potters to achieve uniformity in shape while maintaining the hand-painted precision of traditional designs.
