Description

Late 1800s Wooden Coffee Grinder with Cast Iron Handles

This late 19th-century wooden coffee grinder is a fine example of traditional craftsmanship, featuring dovetail joinery and cast iron hardware. The grinder is constructed from solid hardwood with a rich, warm patina that highlights its age and character. The functional hand-crank grinding mechanism is housed under a hinged metal lid, while the ground coffee collects in a wooden drawer with a cast iron pull.

Condition:

Good antique condition, showing signs of wear consistent with age and use. The lower right corner of the drawer has a small chip, and the rear right corner of the base was previously repaired. The wood has a rich patina, while the cast iron components show natural oxidation, which adds to its authentic aged appeal.

Dimensions:

  • Approximate Size: 9.25" x 9.5" x 7" (H x W x D)
  • Scale Reference: A Campbell’s soup can is included in the images for size comparison.
