Large Hand-Painted Tonalá Pottery Jardiniere

This impressive hand-painted pottery jardiniere, crafted in the Tonalá, features a robust form with elegantly curved handles and a wide opening, perfect for use as a planter or decorative centerpiece. Measuring 16" tall with a 16" diameter, this piece is adorned with intricate floral and fauna motifs, including birds, flowers, and foliage, rendered in rich shades of blue, orange, and cream. The vivid designs and smooth finish showcase the hallmark barro bruñido (burnished clay) technique, a signature style of Tonalá ceramics.
