About the Artist:
RD Riccoboni
is a self-taught American artist celebrated for his vibrant depictions of LGBTQ+ themes, iconic landmarks, and cultural heritage. Born in Fresno, California, Riccoboni developed his artistic passion at an early age and later established himself as a prominent figure in the San Diego art community. His work blends bold colors and patterns, often inspired by the LGBTQ+ pride flag, to foster a sense of inclusivity and optimism. Notably, his painting We Rise As We Lift Others—a tribute to the day a rainbow pride flag was flown over Balboa Park—was showcased at the Sacramento State Capitol and is now displayed in the San Diego History Center. Riccoboni’s contributions extend beyond his artwork; as the founder of Beacon Artworks Gallery, he leverages his professional background to support fellow artists in building sustainable careers.

An award-winning artist, Riccoboni gained recognition early in his career when his work received "Best in Show" at an AIDS charity fundraiser. His artistry has also been documented in a book by Aubrey Walter, founder of the UK Gay Liberation Front. Beyond individual accolades, Riccoboni’s contributions include collaborations like The Art Traveler Guide: A Portrait of Balboa Park, a collection of paintings celebrating the park’s centennial. He continues to exhibit his work in prestigious events, including the Art & Architecture exhibition at The Studio Door, affirming his status as a vital voice in contemporary art.
