About the Artist:
Marjorie Hilda Tietjens (1895–1987) was a highly regarded painter, known for her floral still lifes, landscapes, and depictions of New Mexico families and historic structures, often rendered under moonlight. Born in New Rochelle, New York, and educated in Europe, she moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1942, where she developed a deep connection to the Southwestern landscape. Her works have been exhibited at prestigious institutions, including the Museum of New Mexico, Santa Fe, and the El Paso Museum of Art.
