Nicholas II
This handsome kaleidoscope has a noble heritage. From 1885 through 1916, Peter Carl Fabergé crafted his legendary Imperial Easter eggs for Czar Alexander III of Russia and his son Nicholas II. The eggs opened to reveal breathtaking surprises, such as wildflowers with petals of chalcedony (white opal) and leaves of gold. Now the brilliant blossom of color inside our kaleidoscopic egg will truly take your breath away. Handmade and assembled in our workshops, it features lacquered brass, polished birch, a carefully-calibrated ocular lens, and precisely-angled mirrors. The tiny chamberbox contains a special recipe of hand-lampworked glass; as a result, each egg displays a unique image. Every turned-brass pedestal is individually fitted so your egg nests snugly, and the bottom is felted for presentation in your finest setting. The Van Cort signature on the eyepiece assures you of quality and authenticity.
The men and women in our workshops handcraft a fascinating variety of high-quality kaleidoscopes, telescopes, and reproduction Victorian-age gifts.
