Antique French Marble Clock and Candelabra Set, "Les Raisins" by E. Lambrechts
This exquisite French garniture set includes a pink marble clock and an accompanying 5-light candelabra, crafted in the late 19th to early 20th century. The clock features a beautiful statue titled "Les Raisins," depicting a classical figure holding a grapevine, symbolizing abundance and vitality. The intricate porcelain enamel dial, signed by E. Lambrechts, 1 Rue Teniers, Anvers, showcases fine craftsmanship with a beveled crystal glass. The clock mechanism is marked with serial number 266541 and bears a "Paris" marking, further attesting to its French origin, while the pendulum is inscribed with "P. Made In England." The set includes its original winding key.
Created by E. Lambrechts, a clockmaker based in Anvers (Antwerp), Belgium, known for producing fine timepieces during the 19th century. Pieces from Lambrechts are valued for their intricate detailing and historical charm, often featuring classical themes and high-quality materials.
Condition: This clock and candelabra set is in good vintage condition, with the marble base free of chips or cracks, preserving its polished beauty. The clock mechanism has been tested and runs briefly but may need cleaning or additional servicing for sustained function. The statue has minor damage to the hand, which may also be missing an object. A faint crack is located near the 6 o'clock position, near the edge of the clock face, adding character yet remaining unobtrusive to the overall appearance.
