Royo (José Mateu San Hilario Royo) is a Spanish painter born in 1945 in Valencia, Spain. He is best known for his vibrant depictions of women and nature, often using bold, impressionistic strokes. Royo began his artistic education at a young age, studying under prominent Spanish masters, and later attended the prestigious Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Carlos. His style evolved into a fusion of realism and impressionism, which has made him a leading figure in contemporary Spanish art.
