Description

1933 Mickey Mouse Movie Jecktor Projector w/ Buck Rogers Film – Early Disney

Step back to the dawn of home cinema with this original 1933 Mickey Mouse “Movie Jecktor” Projector, produced by The Movie-Jecktor Co., New York under U.S. Patent No. 1,929,815. Constructed of enameled black and gilt metal, this ingenious toy brought the magic of motion pictures to children’s bedrooms during the early Depression era. The hand-cranked mechanism advanced illustrated “film” on a paper roll, transforming still images into animated motion — an early bridge between shadow play and the modern movie projector.

Adding to its charm, this example comes with a rare “Buck Rogers 25th Century A.D.” Movie-Jecktor Film in its original illustrated box. Combining two of the era’s greatest icons — Disney’s Mickey Mouse and sci-fi hero Buck Rogers — it captures a remarkable moment when imagination, invention, and licensing began to reshape entertainment.

Condition:
For parts or repair. Finish wear, scratches, and a few small dents visible; light source and power cord are absent, and the unit is untested. Mechanisms appear intact. The Buck Rogers film box shows typical edge wear and fading, but remains structurally sound with the original wood-spooled film inside. Displays beautifully as a piece of early Disneyana and 1930s design history.

Dimensions:
Approx. 5 x 7 x 10.25 inches (H x W x D).
Film box approx. 4.5 inches long.

Collector’s Note:
The Movie-Jecktor Co. released its patented system in 1933, offering children a safe, affordable way to “show movies at home.” The Mickey Mouse edition was among the first licensed Disney projectors, preceding the company’s later “Talkie-Jecktor” models with sound discs.
