Suzuki Japan Tin Wind-Up Santa Tricycles T5-753, 1950s Lot (2)
Step back into the golden age of Japanese tin toys with this delightful pair of Suzuki® wind-up Santa tricycles, each Made in Japan and marked T5-753 / Patent No. 424637. Produced during the lively 1950s postwar toy boom, these Santas capture the boundless optimism and craftsmanship of mid-century Japan — when even a holiday wind-up toy was built to charm, whir, and sparkle.
Both feature Santa in bright red attire atop vividly lithographed tricycles that whirl into motion when wound. The spinning rear domes flash with color as the trikes clatter along, and one even holds a yellow balloon on a wire, adding a touch of whimsy and kinetic fun. Each toy showcases Suzuki’s playful design language — exuberant color palettes, cartoon graphics, and intricate lithography that collectors have come to revere.
Dimensions
Santa with Balloon: 5.5" × 3.25" × 6.25"
Suzuki® Santa: 4" × 2.5" × 3.5"
Condition
Good to Fair vintage condition. Both wind-up mechanisms have been tested and function properly. Expected age wear including chipped paint and UV fading to the lithography. Surfaces retain much of their original color and character, with patina consistent with mid-century Japanese tin toys. Please review photos for complete details.
