Step back to the roaring 1920s with this authentic Kenton cast iron hook & ladder fire truck, proudly marked “Kenton, Ohio” on the underside. Crafted by the Kenton Hardware Company, one of America’s premier toy manufacturers of the early 20th century, this 12-inch model captures the heroic charm of the era’s fire brigades in heavy iron and brilliant enamel.
Painted in vivid fire-engine red with yellow spoked wheels and nickel-finished ladder brackets, this open-cab truck was designed for serious play — the kind that left sparks of imagination (and maybe a few scuffs of paint). Originally fitted with twin ladders and a driver, this example still displays Kenton’s signature engineering: solid casting, fine detailing, and the enduring heft that makes these early toys so collectible today.
Condition
In good, display-ready condition with age-appropriate wear and scattered paint loss consistent with use. Light oxidation visible on metal components; ladders and driver figure no longer present. Structurally sound with turning wheels and stable axles. Please review photos for full details.
