Description

Arcade Cast Iron “Tulip Body” Coupe, Freeport ILL, c.1925

Step back to the Roaring Twenties with this authentic Arcade Manufacturing Co. cast-iron coupe, proudly marked “Freeport, ILL” beneath its chassis. Produced around 1925, this charming miniature captures the golden age of American motoring in solid metal. Known among collectors as the “Tulip Body” Model T Coupe, the design features flowing fenders, a sculpted radiator, and nickel-style spoked wheels—hallmarks of Arcade’s precision craftsmanship.

At approximately 6.6 inches long, this was one of the larger coupes in Arcade’s early automotive series, designed with remarkable realism for its day. Traces of vibrant orange, yellow, and white paint hint at its colorful past, a nostalgic reminder of a time when cast iron ruled the toy world. Though the rear bumper and half of the roof are now absent, the piece retains its structure, character, and undeniable display appeal. Arcade toys from Freeport, Illinois, were cherished for their rugged build and faithful automotive styling—many modeled directly after contemporary Ford and Chevrolet cars.

Condition
Fair overall, showing age-appropriate wear, surface oxidation, and notable paint loss. Rear bumper section and half-roof missing, as pictured. Wheels and axles remain intact with smooth rolling action. Stable structure with no visible cracks or repairs. A well-loved survivor with genuine antique charm.
