Arcade Cast Iron McCormick-Deering 10-20 Tractor — c.1925–35, Farm Toy Classic
Step back into America’s golden age of farm machinery with this Arcade Manufacturing Co. McCormick-Deering 10-20 cast iron toy tractor, produced in Freeport, Illinois, circa 1925–1935. Built when toy companies mirrored the real machines that shaped rural life, this solid 2½-pound model was a miniature tribute to International Harvester’s legendary 10-20 tractor — the steel-wheeled workhorse of its time.
The tractor features embossed “McCORMICK-DEERING” lettering across the hood, gray-green paint with red spoked wheels, and the distinctive wrap-around fenders seen on early Arcade examples. Originally sold with a nickel-plated driver (now absent), this was the kind of toy that brought farm life to the playroom floor — rugged, heavy, and nearly indestructible. Even today, it stands as a symbol of the American industrial spirit in miniature form.
Condition:
Fair condition with age-appropriate wear, surface oxidation, and areas of paint loss consistent with its 1920s–30s origin. One rear wheel cover is chipped, as shown in photos. No apparent structural breaks or repairs. Honest patina throughout, giving it the unmistakable character of an untouched antique.
Dimensions:
Overall: 3" H × 4" W × 7.25" L
Weight: 39.95 oz (approx. 2.5 lbs)
