Rosemary is well known for her lyrical and colorful narrative paintings. Although this is a tiny piece, it is packed with patterns and color at 6" x 6" x 2" with some wear on the corners. Rosemary did this painting in 2013. In her words: "I did a series of paintings after Hurricane Sandy severely damaged Gerritsen Beach, my childhood home in Brooklyn. After the storm, I heard about Olga, a Russian woman who had lived there and spent her last years planting gardens at all the bus stops. The community created a memorial garden in her name that was destroyed by the storm and I did the series dedicated to her and my neighborhood."
