1953 Authorized Reproduction of "The Horse Trade". Original Painting using Egg Tempera medium. Signed in the Image. Shrink Wrapped on 1/8" Foam Board
Peter Hurd was an American painter whose work is strongly associated with the people and landscapes of San Patricio, New Mexico, where he lived from the 1930s. The landscape of New Mexico inspired Peter and it was here that he developed his true artistic style. Peter would become celebrated for egg temperas, watercolors and lithographs depicting the New Mexico way of life in the form of western landscape and portraits.
Peter continued to be passionate about his painting career until his death in 1984 but his undying philosophy and legend still lives on to this day.
“Art: an enduring record of man’s emotional response to his existence."
