About the Artist:
Helmut H. Zander was a skilled artist and jeweler with a profound connection to both his craft and the natural world. Born in Koenigsberg, Germany, Zander earned a master's degree in fine art before working as a diamond setter and jeweler in New York City. His journey, marked by his courageous escape from Russian-occupied Germany after World War II, is reflected in his attention to detail and his deep appreciation for beauty and resilience. After retiring to Las Cruces, New Mexico, Zander found new inspiration in the desert landscapes, continuing to paint and exhibit his works at the Mesilla Valley Gallery of Fine Arts.

His legacy as an artist endures, capturing the serene beauty of his surroundings and the personal depth of his experiences.
