About the Artist:
Ronald Stephen Riddick discovered his artistic path early in life, receiving encouragement from his family and teachers to pursue his natural talent. Growing up in California, he often sketched alongside his father, an art director, which further fueled his passion for art. Riddick later honed his skills in college and at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, deliberately steering clear of the avant-garde movements that dominated the 1960s and 1970s. Instead, he immersed himself in classical fine art, seeking out traditional training from the Russian master Sergei Bongart, whose mentorship deeply influenced his work.

Inspired by turn-of-the-century realism, Riddick found a muse in the vibrant culture, light, and people of the American Southwest during a visit, prompting his move to Tucson in 1980. His dedication to the timeless principles of fine art has earned him acclaim, with galleries such as Wood River Fine Arts in Idaho proudly representing his work. Riddick’s legacy continues to grow, rooted in a deep respect for classical art and a passion for capturing the essence of his subjects.
