About the Artist:
Annelise Domhoff, a master potter, was born on January 3rd, 1938, in Heinrichswalde, East Prussia (Germany). She began her journey into the world of ceramics with an apprenticeship at Rudi Stahl pottery in Westerwald, Germany, later achieving the rank of master potter after completing her studies at the Ceramic Academy in Hohr-Grenzhausen.

Over her 70-year career, Annelise’s craftsmanship garnered widespread recognition. She founded Domhoff Pottery in Thermopolis, Wyoming, where she worked alongside her son Stephan. Her work was known for its beauty and precision, and she was proud to have been appointed to the Governor’s Commission for Women by Governor Mike Sullivan. Additionally, she was honored to serve as the potter to the governor, creating special pieces for foreign dignitaries and awards for volunteers.

Throughout her career, Annelise taught pottery and inspired many with her dedication to her craft. She left an enduring legacy in the ceramics world, continuing to shape and mold the community around her, even after her retirement.
