Hohner “Little Lady” Mini Harmonica – Maker Marked, Orig. Box, Germany
Tiny in size but legendary in history, this authentic Hohner “Little Lady” harmonica packs a big story into just 1.5 inches. Made in Germany and clearly maker-marked, it features a classic four-hole, eight-reed design with chrome-plated covers, a wooden comb, and a small loop for a chain or keyring. Included is its original clear plastic presentation box with the red Hohner label insert — a charming touch that completes its mid-century appeal.
First introduced in the 1920s, the “Little Lady” gained worldwide fame in 1965 when astronaut Wally Schirra played “Jingle Bells” on one aboard Gemini VI, marking the first live music ever performed in space. More than a novelty, this pocket-sized harmonica remains a fully playable instrument — and a delightful reminder that even the smallest creations can make history.
Condition:
Good, as shown. Light surface wear and mild tarnish to the metal consistent with age; plastic box shows light scuffs and clouding but remains intact and functional. The red Hohner insert is complete and legible.

Length: 1.5 inches
Why collectors love it:
The Hohner “Little Lady” is not only the world’s smallest playable harmonica — it’s the first musical instrument ever played in outer space.
