This pair of Yup'ik Eskimo grass baskets, crafted by Jane Greene of Hooper Bay, Alaska, exemplifies the traditional basket-weaving techniques of the region. The larger basket, complete with a lid, measures 4" in height and 3.5" in diameter, showcasing intricate designs with natural and dyed grasses in a harmonious pattern of browns, oranges, and earth tones. The smaller basket, measuring 2.5" in height and 5" in diameter, is slightly misshapen but retains its vibrant pattern.
