Denzil “Salty” Seamon was a renowned Indiana artist celebrated for his watercolor landscapes and cityscapes. His artistic talent blossomed early, nurtured by family encouragement. Primarily self-taught, Seamon’s artistic journey was enriched by a home-study course and brief formal training at Paramount Studios. His career took a significant turn when he became Art Director at Thomas-Symon, a position he held for over three decades.
Seamon’s contributions to the arts were widely recognized. Honored with the Sagamore of the Wabash, Indiana’s highest civilian award, his work also garnered academic acclaim. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology bestowed upon him an honorary doctorate and curated a substantial collection of his art, solidifying his legacy as a treasured Indiana artist.
