Marx Tinplate Freight Train Set — NYC 20102, B&O 241708 + Track
Step back into the golden age of American toy railroads with this classic Marx tinplate freight train set, complete with vintage lithographed cars and track. Produced in the late 1940s to early 1950s, this O/O-27 gauge lineup captures the charm and durability that made Marx trains a household favorite for generations.
Included in This Set:
Unmarked Marx Steam Locomotive — Black tin engine, likely from the 999 or 333 series, paired with matching tender.
New York Central System Tender — Gloss black with cream lithography, iconic “New York Central” lettering.
Baltimore & Ohio Gondola Car #241708 — Bright yellow body with red interior and crisp B&O graphics.
New York Central Caboose #20102 — Red and tan with embossed rivet detailing and NYC markings.
(8) Curved 9.75" Tracks & (2) Straight 9.25" Tracks — Standard Marx three-rail tin sections for display or setup.
Condition:
Good overall condition with age-appropriate wear, surface scuffs, and light scratches from play and storage. Lithography remains colorful and legible. Tracks show minor oxidation and slight bending to some sections. Locomotive untested and offered as found.
