Reproduction Arcade 512.85 Aluminum Coupe Toy Car – Freeport, ILL
A charming tribute to the golden age of American toy making, this Arcade-marked 512.85 coupe is a cast aluminum reproduction modeled after the beloved 1920s-style cars once produced by the Arcade Manufacturing Company of Freeport, Illinois. The piece features flowing fenders, spoked wheels, and a closed-cab design typical of early motorcars.
Arcade’s original toys were crafted in heavy painted cast iron from about 1897 to 1941. Later, collectors and small foundries recreated those designs in lighter sand-cast aluminum, allowing enthusiasts to enjoy the look and form of the originals at a fraction of the weight—and price. appeal and educational value for toy and Americana collectors.
Condition
Good condition overall with minor signs of use. The aluminum surface shows typical casting texture and light wear from handling. Wheels roll freely and remain fully functional. No cracks, breaks, or repairs noted.
