Arcade Cast Iron Ford Model T Coupe, c.1925 — A Miniature Motoring Marvel
A wonderful survivor from America’s early age of play, this Arcade Manufacturing Co. cast iron Ford Model T Coupe captures the optimism and innovation of the 1920s. Produced in Freeport, Illinois, Arcade’s toys were more than children’s playthings—they were miniature tributes to the real machines transforming American life.
Measuring 6½ inches long, this coupe is cast in solid iron and fitted with nickel-spoked wheels and a molded driver figure, details that brought an air of realism unmatched at the time. The black paint finish remains original, its aged surface telling the story of nearly a century’s worth of admiration. Arcade’s attention to proportion and movement made their cars feel lifelike—the rolling wheels and sturdy weight were a tactile echo of the automobiles they celebrated.
Condition:
Good overall, with age-appropriate wear and character. Original paint shows areas of loss and oxidation, primarily along fenders and edges. Nickel wheels show minor surface rust but remain intact and free-rolling. Displays beautifully with an honest, time-earned patina.
Dimensions:
3¾" H × 3" W × 6½" L
Weight: 1 lb 10 oz
Collector’s Note:
Arcade’s toy vehicles were prized for their realism and durability, often modeled directly from full-sized cars of the day. The Ford Model T coupe, first offered around 1924–1926, remains a highlight of the company’s automotive line.
