Early Cast Iron Touring Car, c.1925–35 — Restored, Classic 7" Display
Step back to the golden age of American motoring with this charming unmarked cast iron touring car, dating from around 1925–1935. Modeled after the open “California top” automobiles of the era, this solid cast piece captures the spirit of early adventure on the road—long fenders, upright grille, and that distinctive half-canopy roof supported by orange diagonal braces.
Painted in soft gray with a contrasting black roof, the car rolls on disc-style wheels with rubber tires and even sports a rear-mounted spare. While unmarked, its form and casting style closely mirror the A.C. Williams and Kenton Toy Co. passenger cars of the late 1920s, celebrated for their simplified yet elegant silhouettes. The underside’s solid casting confirms an early, prewar manufacture typical of Ohio-area foundries producing iron toys between the wars.
Condition
Good condition overall with signs of use and period-appropriate restoration. The finish has been repainted, and the axles have been replaced using flathead screws. Tires and hardware appear newer. Wheels roll smoothly; casting remains solid and intact with no cracks or breaks noted.
