Description

Early Cast Iron Toy Sedan, Marked 143S / 1118 – Restored Example

Early 20th-century cast iron four-door sedan toy with molded driver figure and raised door panels featuring visible cast door knobs. Finished in bright yellow enamel with black-rimmed pressed metal wheels, this example displays the classic closed-body automobile style of the 1920s–1930s. The underside bears casting marks “143S” and “1118,” likely internal foundry or mold identifiers; no maker’s name is present. While its specific manufacturer remains unidentified, the form and construction are consistent with early American cast iron production, possibly from a smaller regional or contract foundry of the era.

Condition
Good condition overall. Appears restored/repainted, with minor edge wear and touch-ups visible on close inspection. Bright, even finish and intact axles and wheels. No structural cracks or breaks observed. Comes as shown.
