Hubley Cast Iron Streamlined Sedan No. 2232, ca. 1930s
An American design classic in miniature—this Hubley cast iron Streamlined Sedan No. 2232, made in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, captures the aerodynamic spirit of the 1930s. Measuring just under six inches long, the model mirrors the elegant contours of the era’s Lincoln Zephyr and other Art Deco–inspired automobiles. Its smooth, flowing fenders, ribbed silver grille, and open-window design mark a transition from the boxy cars of the 1920s to the sleek machines of modernity.
Finished in its original tan paint with silver detailing and fitted with rubber tires on red wooden hubs, this piece embodies Hubley’s knack for combining rugged cast-iron durability with stylish realism. The underside bears the crisp raised mark “Hubley U.S.A. 2232.”
Condition
In good condition, showing authentic age and playwear. Paint appears original with scattered chipping and surface loss throughout. Wheels remain intact with mild hardening typical of vintage rubber. No structural cracks or repairs noted; axles and body remain sound. Displays beautifully with an honest vintage patina.
