Description

Antique Hubley Attribute Cast Iron Race Car w/ Driver, Marked 1594

Step back into the golden age of American toy making with this antique cast iron race car, attributed to Hubley and dating to the early 1920s. Measuring an impressive 9 1/2 inches long, this substantial toy features a seated driver, dramatic open-wheel racing form, and exposed engine detailing that reflects the public’s fascination with speed and early motorsports.

The car is marked “1594,” a casting number documented on Hubley racer components—most commonly found on wheel molds—supporting the attribution to Hubley’s large racing car series, including examples often referred to as the No. 5 racer. Finished in black paint that appears original, the piece carries the honest wear of a toy that was meant to be played with, not just admired. A strong display piece with real presence and character.

Condition
In good condition overall with age-appropriate wear. Paint appears original, with paint loss and surface rust throughout. The end piece is broken and may not be complete. No major cracks observed; casting remains solid. Comes exactly as shown. Please review photos carefully.
