Arcade Cast Iron “No Parking / Keep Right” Toy Street Sign, c.1930, 5”
Step back to the early days of motoring with this delightful miniature cast-iron street sign, circa 1920s–1930s. Bearing raised lettering on both sides—“NO PARKING HERE” on one, “KEEP TO THE RIGHT” on the other—this double-duty sign once stood guard on toy city streets alongside cast-iron cars by Arcade, Hubley, and Kenton. Its octagonal head, tapered stem, and faceted base mirror full-size traffic signage from America’s early auto era, when road rules were still being standardized.
Finished originally in creamy paint with black accents, this example has earned a century’s worth of patina—paint flaking, honest oxidation, and the kind of wear collectors love. It’s a miniature monument to a time when even toy accessories were built from solid metal, not plastic. A charming piece of Americana for cast-iron enthusiasts, automobilia collectors, or anyone who appreciates the artistry of early roadside design.
