Arcade Cast Iron Buick Sedan c.1927 – Blue/Black, Republic Tires
A classic of the open road—in miniature form. This Arcade Manufacturing Co. cast iron Buick Sedan, produced in Freeport, Illinois around 1927–1930, captures the proud silhouette of the era’s full-size luxury car. Measuring 8 inches long, it features its original blue and black paint, integrated nickel-plated driver, and white rubber tires stamped “Youngstown O. The Republic Rubber Co.”—a wonderful hallmark of authenticity. The rear-mounted spare completes the period-correct profile.
Arcade’s “Buick” sedans were among the finest cast-iron toys of the interwar years, known for their sturdy build and graceful Art Deco lines. This example still wears its age gracefully, showing the honest patina of nearly a century of admiration. More than a toy, it’s a tangible piece of early American automotive and toy-making history.
Condition
Good condition, consistent with age and play. Paint appears original with expected wear to the finish and scattered oxidation. Rubber tires show age hardening but remain intact. Rolling function is sound and the structure solid throughout.
