Description

Rare Vintage Cast Iron Corn Dog Factory Cooker

  • Made by Texaloy Foundry in Floresville Texas.

This is a heavy three-piece cast iron cooker, consisting of two corn dog cooker plate halves with spiral handles, and the square cooker base with carry handle. Makes four patterned corn dogs at one time. The interior compartments of the cooking plates are patterned like a cob of corn, with a dachshund or wiener dog in the centre, so this pattern appears on both sides of the finished corn dogs. Includes the original directions for seasoning the cooker, making the cornbread batter, and cooking the corn dogs. (The batter is spread inside the cooking plate, the hot dog is placed on top of the batter, and more batter is spread over the hot dog before the plate is closed. The spiral handles allow the cookplates to be easily rotated in the base every 30 seconds until the corn dogs are browned.) Can be used over a burner, or a campfire. These are very hard to find, rarely coming up for sale. A great addition to any collection of cast iron cookware.

The outside of each cast iron cook plate has the following information in raised letters: CORNDOG FACTORY, MFG FOR MANO INDS, MADE IN USA, BY TEXALLOY FOUNDRY, FLORESVILLE TEXAS.
