Artist Biography: Burt Rawlings has lived most of his life in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he attended school and college. He graduated with a BA degree from the University of Colorado. Burt has always been oriented towards the arts, taking courses in design and art during college. He began painting seriously in 1995, studying under local legends Joseph Ireland, Earline Barnes, and Julie Ford Oliver. Burt's work includes landscapes, florals, and still life studies. He has been accepted into several juried shows over the years and has exhibited his work at Glenn Cutter Gallery, Las Cruces Art Museum, Branigan Cultural Center, and Mesilla Fine Arts Gallery. Burt is also a member of a painting group called The Artamants.
