Early 19th Century Doulton & Watts Lambeth Stoneware Barrel Lamp
This antique British grog Doulton style glazed crock is a 2-gallon barrel from the early to mid-19th century. The large, two-toned brown and cream pottery Rum stoneware keg features the royal coat of arms appliqué on the front and originally contained rum, dispensed through a brass tap which has since been removed and corked. The barrel is adorned with the Order of the Garter motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" (Shame on him who thinks evil of it) and the royal motto "Dieu et mon droit" (God and my right).
