About the Artist:
Witold Kaczanowski was born in Warsaw in 1932 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. His works often explore themes of loneliness and isolation, influenced by his early experiences during the German occupation. After moving to Paris in 1964 and later to the USA in 1968, Witold-K became well-known for his unique style that blends abstract forms with evocative color contrasts. His works have been exhibited internationally, including at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and the National Museum in Krakow.
Witold-K's art reflects his encounters with various cultural and artistic circles, including friendships with notable figures like Jacques Prévert and Pablo Picasso. His series, such as "Black Holes" and "Solitude," showcase his ability to convey profound emotions through minimalistic yet powerful imagery.
Currently, Witold-K continues to create in his studios in Warsaw and Konstancin.
