This semi-antique Romweber vanity and mirror set exemplifies the elegance and sophistication of Chippendale style, showcasing the craftsmanship and timeless design for which Romweber is renowned. Constructed from high-quality flame mahogany, the set features intricate grain patterns that enhance its rich and vibrant appearance.

Features:

  • Bowfront Design: The vanity features a graceful bowfront shape, adding a touch of sophistication and flow to its profile.
  • Ornate Carvings: Detailed carvings adorn the legs and edges of the vanity, reflecting the ornate and decorative elements typical of Chippendale furniture. The mirror frame is also elaborately carved, adding to the set's visual appeal.
  • Dovetail Construction: Each of the seven drawers in the vanity is constructed with dovetail joints, ensuring durability and strength.
  • Brass Hardware: The drawers are fitted with elegant brass hardware pulls, adding a classic touch and complementing the rich mahogany finish.
  • Glass Top: The vanity includes a glass top, although it has a small chip in one corner and scratches from use.
  • Divided Drawers: The top right drawer contains the maker’s mark, 'American Furniture Company,' confirming the piece's authenticity and origin.

Condition:

  • The set is in good condition, showing signs of use consistent with its age. There are minor scratches, dings, and some wear to the finish. Notably, there is a dime-sized piece of plaster missing from the right side trim and a repaired quarter-sized piece on the front left trim. The plaster trim is cracking throughout, but the vanity remains very sturdy. The chair has two pieces of wood missing, the largest being 1" long, but these are colored and not easily visible.
