About the Artist:
Patsy Basham, aged 86, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015, in Albuquerque, NM. Born on September 1, 1929, in El Centro, CA, she was the daughter of Earl and Ruth Wieman Kendall. Growing up, Patsy's passion revolved around hunting and fishing, often vacationing in Campbell River, Vancouver Island, Canada. She attended the University of California at Berkeley, where she met her husband Bill Basham. Settling in Santa Fe, NM, and later Albuquerque, Patsy pursued her love for nature through wildlife art, showcasing her works in various Southwest art shows and galleries, including the Weems Gallery.

After relocating to Socorro, NM, Patsy and Bill established Basham Construction and worked together until their retirement in 2005. Even in retirement, Patsy continued her artistic pursuits, influenced by her love for birdwatching. She was known for her meticulous study of avian life, symbolized by her car's license plate reading "LV2Bird." Patsy's legacy lives on through her son, Robert "Bob" Basham, grandson Nicholas, and her profound impact on the art world and those who knew her.
