Mesilla Valley Memories

  • These Were Given To Account Holders At Doña Ana Savings & Loan
  • With Original Folio From Doña Ana Savings

  • Hotel Don Bernando 1920
The Don Bernardo opened in 1899, to much acclaim, as it was the finest hotel in town and retained that reputation for over a decade. Located on the SW corner of Court and Main, it was demolished in 1947.
  • Schenk's Bakery and Grocery 1930
The bakery stood on the NE corner of Main Street and Las Cruces Avenue. With the Organ Mountains in the background, the plaza in front of St. Genevieve’s Church is behind the trees to the right.
  • The Park Hotel 1915
Located between Reymond and Miranda Streets, across from present-day Pioneer Park, the hotel was built around the turn of the century and stood until the early 1930's.
  • The Fred Lemon House 1920
Looking north from the intersection of Alameda and Amador. The Lemon House, in the left foreground, stood until the late 1960’s. This site is now vacant.
