About the Designer:
Harri Koskinen, born in 1970 in Karstula, Finland, is widely regarded as Finland's foremost contemporary designer. With a design ethos deeply rooted in Finnish tradition, Harri strives for austerity and simplicity in his work. As the founder of Friends of Industry, his design studio collaborates with renowned brands such as Artek, Iittala, Marimekko, Magis, MUJI, Swarovski, and Issey Miyake. Harri's portfolio spans a wide array of disciplines, including lighting, furniture, watches, loudspeakers, textiles, packaging, art glass, and architecture. Despite this breadth, he is perhaps best known for the iconic Block Lamp. Throughout his career, Harri has garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro and the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Award, highlighting his status as a visionary designer who seamlessly combines tradition with innovation.
