About the Artist:
Ray Swanson, a member of the Cowboy Artists of America from 1986 to 2004, transitioned from engineering to become a celebrated painter of the American West, particularly renowned for his authentic depictions of Native American life. Beginning his artistic journey with a gallery in Oak Glen, California, Swanson later established the Christian Academy of Prescott in Arizona before settling in Carefree, Arizona, where he continued his artistic pursuits. His work, characterized by its realism, earned him a gold medal from the National Academy of Western Art in 1975 and found a permanent home in the collection of the Phippen Museum in Prescott.
