About the Artist:
Gary Carter, a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in 1971, found his artistic calling under inspirational mentors who urged him to depict the American West. After a successful solo exhibition in Tucson, Arizona, he embarked on a career capturing the essence of ranch life. Inducted into the Crow Nation in 1991, Carter's dedication to Western heritage extends beyond his artwork, evidenced by his involvement in Custer Battle re-enactments. As a respected member of the Cowboy Artists of America, serving as President in 1986, Carter continues to reside with his wife, Marlys, amidst the inspiring landscapes of Yellowstone National Park and Madison River ranches, where he passionately cultivates new ideas as a Western artist.
