Tang Dynasty Camel Statue with Musicians

This Sancai drip glaze statue is crafted in the Tang Dynasty style. It features a double camel team carrying a contingent of 10 sculpted court musicians. Such statuary was symbolic of the wealth and power of Mughal emperors, including the famed Kubla Khan, who would have reclined in the relative luxury of the tented platform area beneath the musicians during their travels.

Condition:
Good, with no damage to note. The piece exhibits a well-preserved glaze, displaying the fine craquelure that aficionados appreciate in such vintage pieces, denoting authenticity and age.

Size:
Overall: 17" x 10" x 12" - a substantial presence that commands attention and admiration, befitting its regal inspiration. The size reflects not just the physical dimensions but also the immense historical significance of this striking artifact.
