Artist Bio:
Alice Joreen Cook (1928–2007) was an influential artist rooted in the heart of New Mexico. Born in Anthony, NM, Cook had the spirit of the Southwest imbued in her works. She settled in Las Cruces with her husband Ivo Cook after extensive travel throughout the state. Her artistic legacy includes founding the Black Range Artist Association in 1960, contributing significantly to the local art scene. Her work often captures the vibrant essence of New Mexico, with a particular focus on its architecture and light.
