A set of cinnabar plates, this collection showcases the craftsmanship inspired by the works of the renowned Ming Dynasty artist Chu Yuan-chang. Each plate is a testament to the traditional artistry and techniques that have been preserved through generations.
Crafted for the Museum of Oriental Antiquities, these replica plates from the Ming Dynasty of China were produced in a limited series of 19,500 copies. Every plate is a narrative canvas, vividly depicting the five senses: smell, hearing, taste, touch, and sight. This set includes:

The reverse of each plate features a polished brass backstamp and a convenient hanging loop for display. These plates have been maintained in excellent condition, having never been displayed. Each piece measures approximately 9 1/4" in diameter, with a hand-antiqued and polished finish that highlights the depth and detail of the carving.
Included with each plate is a packet of historical documentation, a certificate of authenticity, and the original box, ensuring the collector's value and historical significance of these artistic treasures.
