Ramon Platero Navajo Turquoise & Coral Ring
About the Artist:
Ramone Platero, a Diné (Navajo) silversmith, is renowned for being possibly the first from his community to incorporate leaf designs in silver jewelry. He began his silversmith journey in the early 1970s and has since established a significant presence in the field. Ramone is part of a lineage of skilled artisans, being the son of the celebrated Pablo Platero, a master Navajo (Diné) silversmith. His father's influence is evident in Ramone's work, as Pablo was instrumental in teaching him the craft. In a testament to his dedication, Ramone even crafted his original tools by hand.
