ORNAMENTAL GERMAN "ETERNAL BRIDEGROOM CANDLE"
Created, after the original painting by Carl Spitzweg, a German artist, around 1860 A.D. The original is on display at the Privatgalie Haraad van Bohlen in Essen. The story goes that time and time again the gentleman was turned down by the girl he loved until finally his persistence made her change her mind.
