Description

Navajo First Phase Revival Concho Belt
This Navajo concho belt was made by a master Navajo silversmith. It has (8) eight large oval conchos which are (3.75) inches across. The buckle is also oval in shape and is (3.75) inches in across. The complete belt length including the leather strap is 34" Long. The pictures show exactly everything you need to know about the belt. It is masterfully done completely by hand in the exact 1st phase style of open cut out triangle slots leaving a piece of silver intact for the leather strap to weave through. All hand hammered and domed in the first phase tradition. Although this belt does have ONE piece of silver that has been soldered onto the buckle to hold the leather. The tooling, holes and braid work is also done by hand. It is a very, very sturdy belt weighing 1.22 LB. or (552) Grams. The leather backing protecting the conchos are all "original" and basically are petrified, they are so old. They are hard as a rock and not movable.
